Q : Can I scratch or chip a Diamond?
A : Yes, but a diamond can only be scratched with another diamond. The diamond is the hardest substance known to man and is almost 100x more resistant to scratching than the next hardest material. Even though the diamond is the hardest substance known to man, it can still be damaged if struck hard and against the "grain". A diamonds crystal structure is similar to the grain of wood and a sharp impact against this grain of a diamond may cause it to crack, chip or shatter.

Q : Does it matter when, I put on My Jewelry and what causes my jewelry to discolor?
A : The old proverb, Last ON first OFF is a good guideline. Many jewelry surfaces are affected by skin and hair care products. The most well known cause is perfume, cologne, lotions and some household cleaning supplies. This is due to the reaction of the chemicals with the alloys in the Gold. These reactions do not occur in Jewelry manufactured in Platinum or Palladium as they are hypoallergenic precious metals.

Q : How do I clean and care for My Diamond Jewelry?
A : Diamonds have an affinity to attract grease, like applied lotions and even natural skin oils. Place your diamond jewelry into a dish and top off with warm water to the touch. Add a dash of your favorite liquid dishwater soap and ammonia. (Ammonia works well in relieving the grease) . Let your jewelry soak for a few minutes and if you have available an old "soft" toothbrush, you can very gently brush your jewelry clean. Remove from the sudsy water, rinse under warm water to the touch and dry with a soft, lint free cloth. NOTE: This Guideline is not recommended for jewelry with Pearls, Opals or other sensitive Gemstones.

Q : What is the Best way to store My Diamond Jewelry?
A : Your Insurance agent can best advise you on this matter as there are two thing to consider: damage and theft. To protect against the possibility of your jewelry getting scratched by the other jewelry in your jewelry box, store each piece individually in its own pouch. It is recommended that valuable jewelry should be kept in a Safety deposit box.

Q : Will Palladora create a Custom Design for Me?
A : We would be honored! see link

Q : Is my white Jewelry enhanced?
A : Platinum or Palladium jewelry is not enhanced as these precious Metals are hypo-allergenic and naturally "white" , meaning they will not tarnish or discolor. Any 14 or 18 karat white gold jewelry will show a tinge of yellow as these alloys are mixed with pure 24 Karat Gold. A Rhodium plating (from the Platinum precious metal Family) enhances your jewelry making it whiter, however this is not permanent and may need to be reapplied with time and wear.

Q : Are any of the Gemstones used in our Jewelry heat treated?
A : Yes. It is very common for natural gemstones to be heated. Heating the stone can intensify color and clarity, making the gemstone more beautiful and valuable. In addition, emeralds are commonly infused with a colorless oil, wax or resin to improve their appearance and luster. Nearly all rubies and emeralds on the jewelry market today are heated or treated in some fashion.

Q : Will you insure my Jewelry?
A : No. However, we provide you with an insurance appraisal that you can use to obtain coverage. Jewelers Mutual www.jewelersmutual.com is a highly regarded insurance company that also sells policies online.
