Wedding ring found in cow’s stomach

Wednesday, February 15, 2012
A gold wedding ring has turned up in the oddest of places three years after it was lost – it was found inside a cow’s stomach.

Will and Sarah Jelbart were running a dairy farm in Victoria, Australia when a cheeky young calf sucked the gold wedding ring off the finger a visitor to the farm.

Will told Weekly Times Now, "The only options I could suggest was that he either get the calf slaughtered, get a vet to operate or wait and see if the ring was passed out," The wedding ring’s owner was happy to wait until the ring reappeared naturally but it never did, until now.

The cow, named Yogie, has since been slaughtered for meat. However, a butcher found the gold wedding ring in the cow’s stomach.

Will Jelbart is very keen to reunite the gold wedding ring with its owner but has unfortunately lost their contact details so can’t let them know the good news. All Will knows is that the wedding band owner is from Melbourne.

Weekly Times Now is urging the owner of the gold wedding band to get in touch and reclaim the ring.
